Physics HL
Perhaps the most challenging science course in the IB, HL Physics is also a very rewarding way to understand the world around you. At this level, you go more deeply into some of the most interesting parts of the subject.

The HL part of this topic requires special attention, as the type of maths involved is very different from normal; for that reason, understanding it takes time.

Quite a big topic, and with a lot of calculations that are easy to misunderstand.

What is the difference between field and potential? This is the question my students struggle to answer most often. It is, however, fundamental to this topic.
Assessment
“Explain” questions on Paper 2
Physics HL students are usually quite strong mathematically, but can they explain the concepts in a way that earns marks? Normally, this is a skill that needs to be honed.
